The EURECA-PRO Lifelong Learning Academy (ELLA) presents a free, online course on Sustainable Food in the Framework of Responsible Consumption.
The objective of the course is to introduce the main pillars of food sustainability in order to be applied and implemented in the training and professional practice of the participants. The course will be delivered online in full and is open to a wide range of audiences who are interested in topics around responsible consumption and sustainable food systems.
The instructor of the course is Dr. Eugenia Rendueles Álvarez from ICTAL, Universidad de León in Spain, one of the EURECA-PRO partner universities.
The course syllabus will be delivered in 4 hourly workshops over 4 weeks as follows:

Session 1: Pathway to understand Sustainable Food

Session 2: Sustainable Food Systems

Session 3: Sustainable Diet

Session 4: GIAHS, the Perfect Example of Sustainable Food Systems
The anticipated learning outcomes include:

A thorough Analysis of the Impact of Food Systems and a critical assessment of the impact of global food systems on the environment, communities, and economies, identifying key areas for sustainable improvement.

Skills for Designing Sustainable Solutions and create innovative and practical solutions for real-world challenges in food sustainability, such as waste reduction, resource management, or equitable food access.

Promotion of Awareness and Advocacy and to effectively communicate the principles of sustainable food practices to diverse audiences, fostering community engagement and advocacy for systemic change.
The starting date is 17.02.2025 and only 30 participants will be accommodated.
A total of 1.4 ECTS will be awarded to students fulfilling the evaluation criteria.
