The Technical University of Crete, in the context of EURECA-PRO, the European University on Responsible Consumption and Production, organizes a free online course on "Innovation & Entrepreneurship", consisting of a series of 14 lectures presented by leading professors and researchers of seven European universities from six countries. The goal is to nurture students and scientific staff in creative and innovative thinking by providing practical knowledge, skills and competences in business and market basics, offering business plan orientation, and promoting problem-solution thinking and leadership skills.

Abstract
In this lecture you will learn how you can create and evaluate meaningful business ideas. We will work out a common understanding of entrepreneurship and explain current trends especially lean startup. We will also focus on Design Thinking as an agile method of creating ideas. We will derive the Design Thinking process and discuss the six steps of that process on several startup examples.
Short Bio
Andre Uhlmann is head of the start-up network SAXEED at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and is responsible for business model development and start-up financing. He coaches the start-up projects on their way from idea generation, business model development and business plan to the founding of a growth-oriented start-up. He uses methods from design thinking, lean startup and business model generation and access to a large network of business angels, VC investors (pre-seed, seed, level A), business promoters and technology-oriented start-ups. Andre Uhlmann has a degree in business administration, is a certified SCRUM Master and Design Thinking Coach and looks back on more than ten years of experience on the corporate, consulting and start-up side.
